Meet the cats who call us home.
Each of our cats arrived with a story and a need most places couldn't meet. Here, they find medicine, patience, and a lap that's always open.
About the sanctuary
Tails Landing Sanctuary, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built for the animals most shelters can't take in — the disabled, the elderly, and the overlooked.
We rescue, we support, and we advocate. Our doors stay open for cats who need lifelong care, and our mission stays fixed on the belief that every animal deserves a soft place to land.
Caring for special-needs cats who had nowhere else to go.
Cats rescued, rehabilitated, and given comfort and dignity.
Medical support and daily hands-on care for every resident.
Every cat here has a story worth telling.
Remi
Remi has enjoyed a great life since I started fostering her, and ultimately adopting her. She gets to wake up in the morning and leisurely watch her birds and squirrels eat and play outside. Remi is non-mobile and is in no pain, she was born with hypoplasia in all four of her legs, often called "twisty legs." Remi also has a wheelchair that she uses from time to time to play with her siblings, but she does prefer being carried. Loving and caring for Remi continues to be the inspiration for Tails Landing Sanctuary, providing a loving home for differently abled animals. Different is Beautiful.
Pistol Pete
Pistol Pete is a wonderful, loving, and curious guy that loves to be involved with his siblings. Pete was born with cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Although his case of CH is on the "severe" end of the spectrum, Pete is very mobile and makes his way around the house and cat trees at his leisure. We have ensured everywhere he likes to go is well padded so that he cannot get hurt as he makes his way through the house. Pete has officially been a resident of the Sanctuary since January 2026 and is loving his life.
Crash
Nearly blind, Crash navigates the world by scent and sound — and crashing. Crash has an undetermined neurological condition, causing him to wobble as he walks. Crash does make sure that he is heard if he needs anything, for being such a small guy, he has the loudest voice in the house. As with Pistol Pete, we have ensured that everywhere in the house Crash likes to go is padded to make sure he does not get injured. Crash also has a great friend in Hero, they love wrestling with each other.
Oakley
Oakley may look like a tiny black panther, but underneath that serious face is a professional snuggle bug. He started life surrounded by a big litter of siblings, but Oakley quickly decided he had already found his forever person - his mama - and he wasn't going anywhere. As the big brother of the house, he takes his security duties very seriously. He keeps watch, makes sure everyone is behaving, and occasionally joins in for a little playtime.
Smush
Smush happens to be another foster fail, how can you say no to a face like that. When he was a foster kitten, he just loved smushing his face in to his mama's, earning him the name. Smush was born with a cleft lip and no tear ducts. Smush is a playful young man that loves to hang out with his older siblings. He is also a great cuddler, happy to cuddle up to any person he encounters.
Tito
Tito may only have three legs, but apparently no one told him he was supposed to slow down. He takes great pride in proving that he is still one of the fastest cats in the house. Tito enjoys the finer things in life: long naps, plenty of treats, and his mama. Everyone else - human, cat, or otherwise - has to pass Tito's personal inspection first. He's selective about who earns a spot in his inner circle, and he makes no apologies for having standards.
Prancer
Prancer may be sight impaired, but he certainly doesn't let that slow him down! He got his name from his adorable little prancing walk, and it fits him perfectly. Prancer has never met a stranger. Humans, cats, dogs - everyone is a potential new best friend. He also takes his role as foster uncle very seriously, happily welcoming the babies and showing them the ropes. He may not be able to see the world around him, but Prancer has absolutely no trouble finding his way through it - with confidence, love, and a whole lot of prance.
Moose
Moose, also known as Moose Goose, and Gigis brother, has some Maine Coon in him, making him a pretty big boy. Moose is shy, it takes him a long time to warm up to people, but it didn't take him long to become friends with Tito. Moose will let you know when he wants attention with his squeaky voice.
Gigi
Gigi, sister to Moose, is also quite the shy girl, unless she's around Tito. Like Moose, she also takes a long time to warm up to humans. Once she does, she may want a few scratches, or maybe just to be in your proximity.
Hero
**ADOPTED 10/31/2026** Hero is a handsome little Manx kitten that is endlessly playful. Being a Manx, he was born naturally without a full tail, just having a little stub. Since he wasn't born with a tail, he is naturally curious of them, taking every opportunity to play with any cat or dog tail. Hero also loves to run throughout the house carrying toys in his mouth, until he finds the perfect place to play. He is also becoming quite the foster uncle himself, grooming and teaching the babies how to play.
And the dogs who steal our hearts, too.
Lily
Lily
Lola
Lola has been loving her second life, not wanting to be far from her mom's side. Since she arrived, Lola makes everyone know she is the protector of the house, a beautiful PomChi that makes her voice heard.
Rip
Rip hates to be away from her dad's side, probably due to her previous lives. She's the happiest dog and is excited about everything; except having her feet touched.
